Keep your travel spirit alive while you are unable to travel with some of my fun ideas! Check them out below. 🙂

Create a destination themed party!

Travel to one of your favorite places by creating a destination themed party! We recently decided to travel to the southern pacific by throwing a Tiki Party, complete with homemade decorations, mixed drinks, themed food and even a themed craft for the kiddos! We got take-out food from Max’s Seaside Hideaway located in Grand Rapids, MI, the food was simply amazing! Their “Tiki Party” came with food for 4 people, drink mixers, themed napkins, drink accessories and even Hawaiian Lei’s!

Listen to a travel podcast

Listening to a podcast is a great way to relax and ease your mind while stuck at home. You can escape to any location in the world or learn about new places that you might want to visit someday. Click HERE to check out an article written by Modern Darling Media that outlines some of the best travel podcasts! My personal favorite is Tips for Travellers by Gary Bembridge – his soothing voice really helps you to visualize the destination and enjoy the listening experience. He also has a great Youtube channel!

If you have children: Explore travel themed toys and decor

Having kiddos while stuck at home is an added challenge, so keep them inspired through travel themed books and toys – most of which can be ordered online and shipped to your door. Check out some of my favorite items below:

Learning Resources Puzzle Globe- 3D Geography Puzzle: This is a super cool 3D globe puzzle (3+) that helps teach children where each continent goes. My son loves playing with it! Baby Einstein Music Discovery Globe: This tiny globe helps early learners (1+) discover music associated with each continent. We got this for my son for his first Christmas and it was perfect for his age.

Wall Stickers Decals- Animal World Map : This is a great way to bring a bit of travel into any child’s space. We have ours hung up in the playroom!

Little Passports Subscription box : This subscription box service will ship a box of fun to your child each month. They offer a variety of options at several different price points starting at roughly $15 per month for 12 months. To inspire travel and global knowledge, I suggest the World Edition Subscription. Each box includes: fun toys and souvenirs for each country, letters from pen pals Sam and Sofia, stickers for your suitcase, passport and map, new collectible country coins, activity sheets and photos, and online extras like photo galleries, fun facts and more!

If you have children: Travel Books with Usborne

Usborne Books: They have sooo many cool books on travel for your kiddos. Check out the list below:

Kitty Kat Travel Series (my personal fav!!) are stories about this cute little cat who travels to various locations round the world. We love the London one 🙂

They also have unique shine-a-light books that reveal hidden images when a light is shown on the page – they are really cool!

Wonders of our World- Shine a LightWonders of the U.S.A. – Shine a Light

Plan your next trip

Keep your travel spirit alive by planning your next adventure. Now is the perfect time to plan your next trip or vacation! If you aren’t in to doing the research and planning yourself, many travel agents are still working remotely and will be able to assist you, and can probably get you a great deal! I am not going to suggest a travel agent or specialist for you at this point, because everyone has different needs and wants. But here is a great article on how to choose the perfect agent and when to use one: www.smartertravel.com/find-right-travel-agent/

Create your travel bucket list

Not ready to actually plan/book your next trip? Work on your travel bucket list instead. I have several ‘exotic’ places on mine that I am constantly day dreaming about – this helps pass the time when stuck at home! Some of mine include an Antarctica Cruise, African Safari and a road trip on highway one down the coast of California! Check out my Pinterest page for more bucket list ideas!

Create a travel memory book

Keep your travel spirit alive by creating a travel themed memory book. This is a great way to remember all your ravel adventures! Instead of getting your photos printed, create a picture book instead. My favorite website/app to use is Shutterfly. You can create a book yourself or they have a team of designers that will do it for you. Their prices are reasonable and they are always running deals or sharing out discount coupons. Check out my Italy and Jamaica (honeymoon) books in the pictures below:

I didn’t realize that there was such a thing as a travel podcast, and I have done a lot of traveling in my life. I am definitely. going to try listening to some.
