Salt Spring Island, Canada

Submitted by Cecily from Groovy Mashed Potatoes

Between Vancouver and Vancouver Island, you will find the creative island of Salt Spring. The small island has a bohemian vibe and is known for its artisan culture and locally grown products. There are many fun things to do in Salt Spring Islan for a girl’s trip, from sampling goat cheese at a cheese farm and having a wine picnic to browsing the Saturday market filled with amazing local products.

Top things to do

  • Stay at a quirky Airbnb and experience the islander way of life. There are lots of cozy and rustic cottages tucked away in the forest or places with beautiful sea views.
  • Start your day at the Saturday Market featuring over 140 vendors and local products. The market is open every Saturday from April to October.
  • Have a cheese tasting at the Salt Spring Island Cheese Farm. Make a stop at the charming farm to sample handmade artisan goat cheeses. There are many varieties to try, such as basil, garlic, lemon, and olive tapenade. They are delicious!
  • Go for a wine tasting and wine picnic. First, stop at Garry Oaks Winery to sample their wines and walk through their labyrinth. Next, buy a bottle of bubbly at Salt Spring Vineyards and have it at their picnic tables overlooking the vineyard.

Enjoy this fun and free-spirited island!

Utila in Honduras

Submitted by IIona from Top Travel Sights

If you want to go on a fun girls’ trip, you should visit Utila in Honduras. This Caribbean island offers everything you need to enjoy your vacation – white beaches, cocktail bars, and a laid back atmosphere.

You can enjoy the day lazing on the beach together. If it gets too warm, jump into the water. At the public beach on Utila, you can find sun umbrellas with small tables in the middle of the sea – perfect for enjoying your cocktail with your friends.

If you are more adventurous, go on a snorkeling trip together. Or do you want to go further? Then learn how to dive! Utila is one of the most affordable places in the world where you can become a certified diver.

Above the water, you can also enjoy lots of great activities. How about a kayaking trip through the mangroves? Or hire a boat and escape to Water Cay. This tiny island is just big enough for a few palm trees, you, and your girlfriends. If you rent the equipment, you can even stay overnight and relax by the campfire in the evening.

Byron Bay, Australia

Submitted by Natasha from the Great Ocean Road Collective

For the ultimate girls trip featuring sun-soaked beaches, laid-back boho vibes, and tons of great food, head to Byron Bay, Australia. This quintessential Aussie surf town, which only rivals Torquay, lies on the coast of southeastern Australia in NSW, boasting stunning beaches, boutique hotels, local designers, and a thriving culinary scene. You’ll love Main Beach – conveniently located in the center of town, it’s perfect for swimming, sun-tanning, and people watching.

Beyond beaches, Byron Bay is known for its chic, bohemian style, featuring lots of earthy tones and natural materials. Explore the center of town which is home to several of Byron’s most distinguished brands such as Spell, St Agni, and Auguste just to name a few.

Next up, food! Byron is home to a ton of gorgeous cafes, restaurants, and bars. You’ll find lots of aesthetically pleasing decor, local, organic produce, and of course, world-class Australian coffee.

For brunch, we love Folk Byron Bay. Not only is the location beautiful, but they also source as many of their products from local, organic producers. For happy hour cocktails, check out The Mez Club. This Mediterranean-inspired bar has a gorgeous breezy, neutral decor and will really make you feel like you’re on vacay.

Old Mission Peninsula, Michigan, U.S.A.

My amazing home state of Michigan is home to some fantastic wineries and vineyards! This makes the perfect place for a girl’s trip! Old Mission Peninsula located near Traverse City Michigan has 10 wineries complete with unique tasting rooms and stunning views of Lake Michigan. This location makes for a perfect girls’ weekend! You can also enjoy the beauties of Lake Michigan, which you can see from all sides. No wine tasting weekend is complete without a trip to the Mission Lighthouse at the end of the peninsula. Plan in extra time to explore the lovely mid-sized town of Traverse City- tons of restaurants, great shopping and you can even go on a river brewery tour via kayak!

A great place to stay on your trip is Chateau Chantal Bed and Breakfast. This BnB has 12 uniquely decorated rooms all with views of either the east or west Traverse Bay. You can even get exclusive access to the storehouse of wine after hours as a guest of the BnB! Make sure to eat at the Boathouse during your girl’s getaway!

Some of my favorite wineries on Old Mission Peninsula include Mari Vineyards which has an old-world Italian feel and Bonobo Winery which is themed after the carefree Bonobo Monkey! Visit all 10 in 2 days with my Old Mission Peninsula Wine Tasting Guide!

Thailand-Phuket and Krabi

Submitted by By Trisha of Try Wandering More

Explore during the day and party at night, Thailand’s beaches at Krabi and Phuket are perfect for a girl’s getaway. Phuket is fast-paced and fun while Krabi is relaxed and picturesque, so you and your girls can have the best of both worlds.

In Phuket, book a resort with a pool bar so you all can take a dip while sipping on your favorite cocktail. During the days, shop in Patong’s lanes, take a trip to the beautiful James Bond Island, opt for a relaxing Thai Massage, or take a trip to Phuket Old Town. After watching the sunset at Patong Beach head out to party at Patong Walking Street.

In Krabi, stay in a private pool villa near Ao Nang beach. There are plenty of options for private yachts hires and group sunset cruises so you can snorkel, paddleboard, dine and drink aboard a boat while admiring the towering limestone cliffs. You can also go island hopping over turquoise waters to Phi Phi’s resplendent beaches, take a soak in Klong Thom Hot Springs or have a lazy day at the beautiful Railay Beach. In the evening, head to Aonang beach to dance the night away or to the Night Market at Krabi Town for some delicious local food, drinks, and trinkets.

Panama City, Panama

Submitted by Samantha from My Flying Leap

When you think about Panama City, chances are the first thing you think about is the Panama Canal. In truth, it’s a must-see when you visit and well worth your time. It was far more amazing to see in person and more interesting to learn about it than I expected. There are also other great things to do in and around Panama City that make it a great girl’s trip.

Start by exploring the historic old town of Casco Viejo with its crumbly old buildings undergoing renovation to their former glory. This is a thriving area with lots of great small shops. You’ll also find a wonderful market with handicrafts made from the local indigenous tribes. Enjoy the plentiful restaurants, and some have trendy rooftop decks to enjoy city and ocean views.

Then, take a day trip to the San Blas Islands, a series of small islands with pristine white-sand beaches and turquoise waters. Most are uninhabited and are literally paradise just off the coast of Panama. My friend and I went a year ago and we still fantasize about returning.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Submitted by Sara from WanderMoore

Ocho Rios, Jamaica is the perfect tropical location for any girl’s weekend! Located in the heart of the Caribean, Jamaica is known for its friendly people and great Rum! Relax on the beach, sip the local rum, and even go on an adventure.

There are tons of places to stay while in Ocho Rios but my favorite is the Sandals Ochi Beach Club. They have amazing pool parties, lots of places to relax by the ocean, and tons of entertainment. They even have a speakeasy that is hidden on the property. From here you can also book tons of fun excursions like hiking Dunn’s River Falls, Zip Lining, Rum Tasting and so much more!

Tbilisi, Georgia

Submitted by Kristin from Adventures with Ensuite

The capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, doesn’t often make it on to the shortlist when deciding where to go for a girls’ trip, but it should! It has something for everyone – whether you are looking for cultural experiences, good food, and wine, or a vibrant and colorful party scene.

Tbilisi has an atmospheric old town with its cobblestone streets lined by outdoor cafes and cozy restaurants. In addition to the town itself, which makes this such an interesting destination are the many possible day trips. The most popular which should not be missed on any itinerary in Georgia is wine tasting in the pretty hill town of Sighnaghi, hiking the Caucasus mountains in Kazbegi, a visit to Stalin’s home town of Gori and Davit Gareji monastery.

After a day of sightseeing, the city is full of quirky bars such as Sakhelosno, or more upmarket options like the bar at Rooms Hotel. If you enjoy partying Tbilisi will not disappoint with its many clubs. It is often listed amongst the top 10 places to go raving in the world.

To make things even more attractive, Georgia is one of the cheapest holiday destinations in the world and has a very flexible visa policy.

Santorini, Greece

Submitted by Jan from Jan Adventures

Girl Trips are the best! They nourish our souls and refuel our batteries. We can step away from the spouses, kids, house, and work to forget it all and just have some plain simple FUN!  We get to be silly, laugh like fools, and talk about anything under the sun.

One of my best Girls Trips was to one of my bucket list locations… SANTORINI, GREECE! Most people think this is a honeymoon destination, but I had a wonderful time spending a few days there with my best friend.

This small droplet of an island in the middle of the Mediterranean is simply amazing. We booked a cute boutique hotel on the cliffside and the views were spectacular from the early morning breakfast on our room terrace until the glorious evening sunsets.
We organized a couple of tours while on Santorini. One tour was a full-day catamaran cruise where we were picked up at our hotel and driven to the port. They served us a delicious lunch and unlimited white wine. Needless to say, we got very happy and sang to the music they were playing as we sailed along the coastline.

On another day, we visited the Crazy Donkey beer brewery. We sampled all the local beers and bought their t-shirts to remember our fun time there. We also walked along the stunning island cliff path and admired the very popular sunset from the town of Oia.

I’d have to say the most fun we had in Santorini was riding the donkeys up the steep cobblestone path from the port to the town. It’s a traditional tourist activity! As the donkeys were racing up the hill, my girlfriend and I were hanging on for our dear lives and never laughed so much! I highly recommend Santorini for your next Girls Trip!

Las Vegas, Nevada, U.S.A.

Submitted by Sara from WanderMoore

Las Vegas, Nevada. The legendary place for bachelorette parties and epic girls’ trips! This city is known for over the top casinos, high-end entertainment, and wild nightlife. The perfect place to have a great girls’ weekend! There are so many things to do in this great city including taking a ride on the High Roller Observation Wheel, visit the Neon Museum, ride the SlotZilla Zipline and so much more.

I recommend staying somewhere mid-strip so that you and your girls can easily explore Las Vegas Boulevard. The Bellagio and the Cosmopolitan are both great options! While exploring Las Vegas make sure to check out some of the free shows like the Volcano show at the Mirage and the famous Bellagio Fountains. Or you could opt in to see a paid show the “O” or “Ka” both from Cirque de Soleil.

The nightlife and pool parties are always amazing in Vegas! Tao at the Venetian is so much fun and the pool parties at Encore Beach Club can’t be missed!

Make sure you know all the Covid-19 precautions the city is taking before you go with my post-here!

Madrid, Spain

By Or from My Path in the World

Madrid is the kind of city that has something to offer for almost every type of traveler. From gorgeous streets, squares, and parks where you can wander around for hours to museums and historical landmarks to the most vibrant culinary and nightlife scenes, Madrid has it all.

It’s also a perfect destination for a girls’ trip as it offers plenty of things we ladies love to do. First of all, Madrid is an amazing shopping destination. With literally hundreds of shops in the city center (which is huge) of beloved brands like Mango and Zara and even a 5-floor Primark store, you better bring an extra suitcase.

There are also dozens of mouthwatering breakfast and brunch spots in Madrid, as well as the most incredible rooftop bars and pools, which are a must-have on your itinerary.

Last but not least, Madrid is also known for its wild nightlife. The Spaniards eat their dinner quite late, so you can have your tapas and wine at 9 or 10 PM in the neighborhood of La Latina and then head to Malasaña. Have a few drinks at one (or more) of its bars and finish (or start) your night at one of its clubs, which many consider as the best in the city.

Bali, Indonesia

Submitted by Kate from Rolling Along with Kids

Bali is a fantastic place for a girl’s trip! The weather is amazing and the sunsets are some of the best in the world. On your next girls’ trip to Bali, staying in Canggu is the perfect spot to enjoy the beach clubs and 5-star restaurants. Finns VIP Beach Club, La Brisa, and Cafe Del Mar are great beach club choices to enjoy a day out of eating and drinking while enjoying a beautiful Bali sunset at the end of the day.
Culture is an important element of discovering Bali and the Bali Buddies Village Experience is a great day out with the girls. A visit to a Balinese family compound, lunch at a local warung, and the most amazing water purification ceremony at a beautiful waterfall.
For the adventurous girls’ trip, a sunrise climb up Mt. Batur is the perfect way to start the day. It is an early start but the sunrise is one of the most stunning things you will see.

Dallas, Texas, U.S.A.

Submitted by Jordan from The Homebody Tourist

Dallas, TX can sometimes get overlooked by the eclectic bar scene of Austin, or the beachside adventures of Galveston, but there is no shortage of things to do in and around Dallas. In my opinion, it makes for the perfect location for a girl’s weekend getaway!

After checking in to your hotel, get your cowboy boots on and head over to The Fort Worth Stockyards to be met with all things “Texas”. There are great BBQ restaurants, quaint shops, mechanical bulls, and longhorns walking the streets. If visiting on a Friday or Saturday, be sure to check out the rodeo! After the exploring, walk over to Billy Bob’s Texas for live concerts, live bull-riding, and all the country dancing!

After your country night, today is all about the big city. Head over to Klyde Warren Park to explore downtown Dallas. Right across the street, you will find the Dallas Art museum (free admission) and food trucks surrounding the park.

If you still have the energy for more adventure, be sure to check out Six Flags in Arlington, TX. Here you can ride all the roller coasters and get that delicious fair food (Did someone say mini-doughnuts?)

With a mixture of country, art, and adventure, there is something in Dallas to make all your girls happy!

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Submitted by Bruna from I Heart Brazil

Crystal clear beaches, refreshing drinks, and mesmerizing landscapes, Rio de Janeiro is by far one of the greatest places for a girl’s trip. From north to south, Rio has unique neighborhoods filled with exciting venues and things to do.

While Ipanema is my favorite area (which happens to have the best hotels in Rio), Santa Teresa and Lapa offer live samba performances and lots of street art. The funky bars serving the national cocktail – caipirinha – are just the beginning of the fun.

Here, the city landscape mixes so perfectly with the surrounding nature that it is difficult not to be impressed. When you look down from either the Sugarloaf Mountain or the Corcovado (Christ The Redeemer Statue), you marvel humbly at the city below. It’s absurdly beautiful!

Also, take your time and shop for a tiny Brazilian bikini. After all, where else could you possibly wear such a small bikini without having people staring at you? It’s perfectly normal here.

So next time, when you start planning your girls’ getaway, consider Rio de Janeiro, and embrace the local diversity. This city has everything to make any trip remarkable!

Havana, Cuba

Submitted by Agnes from The Van Escape

Havana, Cuba, is the perfect destination for a Girls Trip. The city is bustling with life, amazing energy, sun, and offering great attractions.

Take a ride in an old school classic car.

Restored, stylish cars from the 1950s drive around Havana. You can choose the model, the color as pink, red, yellow, and more. The best is the cabriolets. You can pick the one you like next to the Hotel Inglaterra or the Museum of the Revolution and then visit the famous Malecon promenade and Vedado. At the end of your ride, take a photo in front of the famous Hotel Nacional de Cuba.

Take a walking tour of Old Havana.

Streets of Old Havana are teeming with life, and you can walk them for hours watching the life of Cubans. You can buy a cigar from them, or fresh fruit. Visit Ernest Hemingway’s favorite bars: El Floridita and La Bodeguita del Medio. The Center of Havana is the most colorful district, and it’s the district where you’ll feel most in touch with the local flavor.

Dance salsa and have a drink at one of the Havana bars.

Most bars offer live salsa music. Especially in the evenings, the rooftop bar overlooking the city’s panorama is worth a visit. Drinking the famous daiquiri or mojito will be an unforgettable experience. So, check the best rooftop bars in Havana to choose a perfect place for a drink and evening fun during your Girls Trip to Havana.

Magala, Spain

Submitted by Joanna from Andalucia in my Pocket

Visiting Malaga is a great idea when it comes to a perfect location for a girl’s trip. No matter what everyone in the group likes, Malaga has something that can please everyone. Malaga is a perfect beach getaway, with warm sunny days all year round. The two main beaches of the city are located within walking distance from the old town. And there’s just not that – the beach bars and cafes along the Paseo Maritimo remain open all year round, serving jugs of sangria and generous glasses of gin and tonic.

Malaga is also a city that never sleeps, where the party goes on until the early hours of the morning. There are many clubs in the old town that welcome groups of girls who come to the city to also enjoy dancing. Malaga is a very safe town even by night, so walking back to the hotel in the dark is never an issue. In fact, most of the old center of Malaga is pedestrian-only.

Hawaii, U.S.A.

By Clara from Petite Capsule

Hawaii, a state of the United States of America, and a group of volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean is also one of the best destinations for a girl’s trip. You are spoiled for choice with hotel resorts. Many have pools, swim-up bars, and day spas. For those who prefer sand, there are numerous beaches, including Kahanamoku Beach, Waikiki Beach, Kailua Beach, and Lanikai Beach. Countless water activities are available too, such as off beach snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, surfing, kayaking, and jet skiing.

A highlight is the option to go swimming with dolphins. There are lots of walks with amazing views: Diamond Head Trail, Koko Crater Trail, Manoa Falls, Waimano Falls, and Na Pali Coastline. Hitting the outlets is great for girls who love shopping. Waikele Premium Outlets is a must with half-price discounts on brands, such as DKNY and Kate Spade. Ala Moana Shopping Centre, a big fashion and beauty mall, is a desirable shopping stop with discounted prices. Popular eateries include the Cheesecake Factory, Denny’s, and Hard Rock Cafe. With so much to do, Hawaii is a fantastic girls trip getaway.

Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, Canada

Submitted by Sarah from In Search of Sarah

Niagara-on-the-Lake is tucked away at the corner of Southern Ontario on the shores of Lake Ontario and the mouth of the Niagara River, surrounded by over 50 wineries, fabulous restaurants, and charming hotels and Bed & Breakfasts.  It’s the perfect place for a girl’s weekend!

Just 1.5 hours from Toronto or 45 minutes from Buffalo, this endearing town is a popular spot for a girls’ getaway and is a top choice for bachelorettes, mother-daughter trips, or just a fun place to come with a group of girlfriends.

One of the most popular spots is Trius Winery, and also happens to be the most Instagrammable, with its gorgeous floral backdrops and elevated hot-pink vineyard perch. Their winery tour is only offered for private groups of 10, making it the perfect exclusive girls’ day out, complete with a glass of sparkling rose!

There are endless options for wineries and you can easily spend the entire weekend visiting them and finish your day off with high tea at the vintage Prince of Wales Hotel before cozying up at the classy Pillar and Post Inn & Spa or a B&B.
This Victorian-era town is known for its wineries, but there are also tons of unique things to see and do in this town that don’t include wine!

Montréal, Québec, Canada

Submitted by Carrie Ann from Should be Cruising

The bustling city of Montréal, Québec is the ideal destination for a girls trip, especially if your crew loves leisurely brunches at alfresco cafés, shopping in independent boutiques, and spending your evenings barhopping!

Just a short flight from any city in the northeast US or southeastern Canada, Montréal is so easy to get around by the Métro (the city’s subway) or Uber.

Along Rue Ste-Catherine, the main street for restaurants, bars, and shopping, you’ll see plenty of international brands along with Canadian retailers. But for a more local shopping experience, try the Mile End neighborhood for independent boutiques, vintage shops, and art galleries.

Follow Ste-Catherine to its northeastern end to find Montréal’s famous Gay Village. In the warmer months, this part of the street is blocked off as a pedestrian mall. Many of its restaurants offer outdoor terrace seating, perfect for a leisurely meal with the girls.

Nightlife lovers will want to head to Rue Saint-Denis and Avenue du Mont-Royal for an eclectic assortment of bars, live music venues, and nightclubs to sample.

Of course, no trip to Montréal is complete without trying the poutine—french fries topped with gravy and cheese curds. It may sound like a strange combo, but it’s perfect for a late-night snack or brunch.

Playa del Carmen, Mexico

Submitted by Victoria from Guide Your Travel

Playa del Carmen is the perfect place for a girl’s trip. This Mexican beach town is known for its cheap cocktails, incredible beaches, and parties into the early morning. What more could you want for a girl’s weekend? But even if partying and drinking isn’t your thing you’ll still love Playa del Carmen.

Why not take a day trip to Isla de Mujeres or Cozumel? These islands have the best beaches around and are the perfect spot for snorkeling or a relaxed beach day. Plus some of the best cenotes in Mexico lie close to Playa del Carmen. These natural sinkholes in the jungle have crystal clear water and can’t be found anywhere else in the world. After all that adventure and sightseeing you might be in need of some down-time.

Playa del Carmen has an amazing selection of beach clubs and rooftop lounges. Take your girls for an all-day beach club experience for anything from massages, cocktails, and a pool by the ocean. The perfect place to have the trip of a lifetime with your girls.

Savannah, Georgia, U.S.A

Submitted by Sydney from A World in Reach

Trying to find the perfect destination for the next trip with your best girlfriends? Look no further than Savannah, Georgia. Grab your girls and head to Savannah for a long weekend in order to experience the best of the city.

There are tons of reasons why Savannah is the perfect girls trip destination, but one of the top reasons is that you can explore the city’s famed Historic District with a drink in hand. Grab a boozy slushie from Wet Willie’s on the riverfront before roaming through the district, stopping for breaks at a few of the 22 historic squares, and eventually making your way to Forsyth Park. Here, you’ll find the frequently photographed (and oh-so Instagrammable) fountain that you’ve seen in so many shots of Savannah. Take a break here before heading back towards the riverfront, admiring the beautiful historic homes along the way.

In the evening, get ready for a spooky night by going on a Savannah Ghost Tour! Savannah is said to be one of the USA’s most haunted cities, and there is no shortage of ghost tours to fill you in on its haunted history. There are even haunted pub crawls!

Another reason Savannah is amazing? The delicious food! You can’t visit the city without sampling some Southern cuisine, and The Olde Pink House is one of the best places to go. Make reservations ahead of time and go a bit early for a drink in the downstairs bar – make sure to try a Pink Lady!

Seville, Spain

Contributed by Linn Haglund of Brainy Backpackers

Seville is the perfect city for a girl’s trip. With so many wonderful attractions, fancy nightlife, yet a relaxed vibe, you’re absolutely sure to have a great time in Seville. There are many amazing venues for watching top Flamenco performances, but you can even take Flamenco classes together to make memories of a lifetime.

There is great shopping in the city as well as many great places to have tapas and wine throughout the day. But make sure you get to explore the Plaza de España, the Cathedral, Giralda, and Alcazar while in the city. A fun activity is a boat trip along the Guadalquivir River, or for the adventurous groups of friends, why not kayak or stand up paddleboard instead? If you have the time, there are also a lot of memorable day trips from Seville, like a trip to Cadiz or Ronda, as well as the traditional white villages in Andalusia.

New York City, New York, U.S.A.

Submitted by Lyndsay from The Purposely Lost

A list of the best places for a girls’ trip isn’t complete without New York City on the list! There’s something to do in New York City for any interest.
If you’re visiting the city with your girlfriends in the summer, why not take the subway to Rockaway Beach? Start with the City’s signature boozy brunch. Then, make your way to the beach! You can spend an entire day lounging outside on the coast without even leaving the five boroughs. Or, spend your day walking the High Line and exploring the City’s many unique neighborhoods. In the evening, go for a great dinner out and drinks at a rooftop bar.

If your girls’ trip to New York City falls during the cooler months, you can walk Fifth Avenue and shop, then find yourself at some of the best observatories in New York City, Top of the Rock at 30 Rockefeller Center, or the Empire State Building. Spend some of your days inside exploring the world-renowned museums, and then make sure to end a day with dinner and a Broadway show!

Cape Town, South Africa

Submitted by Oksana and Max St John from Drink Tea Travel

Cape Town has everything you would need for a girls trip. From wine tasting to food markets, beach escapes and outdoor activities, Cape Town has it all.

One of the best things to do on a girls trip is to reach the top of Table Mountain. You can get there by hiking or taking the cable car. There are several routes to hike to the top of Table Mountain but the most popular hike via the Platteklip Gorge Trail. It takes 1-3 hours depending on your level of fitness.

For cultural activities, the Cape Winelands just north of Cape Town can’t be beat. Spend an afternoon wine tasting with your gals and taking pictures along the winding roads and sea of vineyards.

Back in Cape Town visit the V&A Waterfront for a bite to eat and do some shopping. To get a dose of history, head to the Bo Kapp neighbourhood. For a relaxing day, spend the afternoon on the sand. There are lots of great beaches in town. Clifton is perfect for sunset.
