My Favorite Places to Enjoy a Nice Glass of Wine
I am so excited to share with you all my favorite places to enjoy a glass of wine! I have been a lover of red wine for all of my legal (and not so legal) drinking years. As I got older, my taste buds changed and evolved and I switched from sweet reds to bold and dry. That being said, listed below are my favorite places in the world to enjoy a nice glass of wine.

Sonoma Valley, California, U.S.A.:
This slightly lesser-known valley of wine is located in Northern California, just north of San Francisco. This area is full of amazing natural beauty (think rolling hills and clear blue sea), diverse culture, and tons of things to do! I had the opportunity to experience much of this on my visit here (more on that in later posts), but my favorite was, of course, the wine tasting! We visited half a dozen vineyards while exploring the area, and I thoroughly enjoyed the wine at each stop. My favorite was Cline Cellars. They have great Cali wines, a beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful event facilities. Cline is well worth the visit on your travels!

Paris, France:
I have been fortunate enough to visit Paris several times throughout my travels thus far. This is a city that I just love to explore and wander in. There are tons of little shops, cafes, and parks to discover. And of course, lots and lots of wine! You can get just about any type of wine you like in Paris, but of course, I will always look for a nice glass (or bottle!) of red. My absolute favorite thing to do is to wander into a little local store, buy a loaf of perfectly crusted French bread, some yummy soft cheese, a few slices of meat (Salami is always my go-to) paired with a nice bottle of red. Then I like to walk along the banks of the Seine river and have myself a little picnic. 🙂 Seriously, this is the best way to enjoy some wine in Paris!
Florence, Italy:
Italy has completely stolen my heart. I enjoyed every moment I have spent so far in this amazing country. I’ve visited many cities in Italy, including Rome, Naples, Pisa, Siena and my favorite, Florence. Florence is located in the heart of Tuscany, a region famous for Chianti wine. Chianti is made up of roughly 70% to 100% Sangiovese grapes and often blended with other grapes. My favorite little place to get a good Chianti in Florence is Baldovino Bistro. My husband and I were recommended Baldovino by our tour guide back in 2016, and we were so glad we took the recommendation. Located on a little side street adjacent to the Basilica of Santa Croce, this restaurant has a great wine menu and amazing food! We enjoyed it so much that we went back again in 2018!
Traverse City, Michigan, U.S.A.:
This might surprise some of you because this region isn’t known for its red wine, but this area also holds a special place in my heart. I have been wine tasting in the Traverse City area dozens of times and I have always enjoyed myself. The natural beauty of the area, mixed with the quaint hometown feel, plus the amazing waters of Lake Michigan, it just can’t be beaten! My favorite place to grab a glass of wine is 2 Lads Winery. Located on Old Mission Peninsula, (along with 9 other wineries), 2 Lads has the best views of the East Bay. Make sure to try a cheese and meat tray to go with your nice glass of wine.
